(I like it read to me)
Ultimately, it was not any force of will or cunning, or magic that would save Harry. Just her love. Moreover, her understanding that saving Harry was the same as saving herself and the lives of all those she loved. Her life and Harry's had grown into one branch. With that in mind, Stella was able to request of Ascentia the secret to making the jump into human form. With one attachment; that she be able to visit Harry once each cycle of the moon, in her true form. As a cat.
It all happened so fast. She fell asleep at the edge of the pool. While she slept, she had a dream in which soft hands had lifted her gently into the cool waters. A warmth ran through the core of her body. She thought of Harry. His long branches were holding her. His thoughts were permeating every part of her memory. His life had become wholly mingled with hers. As she floated in the water, she felt a tingling in her legs, her hands and arms till it grew and filled her entire body. She floated there for many moments. Then she could feel those same hands lifting her from the water and gently laying her in the long green grass. The dark sky poking through the dark trees above were filled with stars. It felt like a dream. She fell off to sleep.
She opened her eyes and noticed sunlight dappling the leaves in the trees above. She heard birdsong. She blinked a few times to adjust to the light. Then she looked down the length of her body. She saw a smooth belly that extended to the hips and two long smooth legs attached. She studied the two feet each with five toes. She wiggled them. She lifted her paws to her face and saw human hands with fingers waving in front of her eyes. She was confused.
She sat up slowly. After some moments of consideration, she crawled on her knees and hands to the edge of the pool to get a drink. She brought her lips to the water and there she saw it — the face of a woman. She yipped and sprung away from the pool. She hesitantly brought her eyes back and faced her reflection again. There it was again — a woman. With blue eyes, long dark hair, and most pronounced, she saw human skin. She touched her face with her fingers, feeling each item: Her nose, her cheeks, her lips, her ears. She breathed in deep and slowly exhaled. With slow caution, she raised her body on her two long legs and stood straight.
"I am a woman," she whispered to herself. "I am a woman. Just moments ago, I was a cat," she countered. She lifted her hands to examine them. They were paws, and now they are hands.
She had been dreaming. That's it. Dreams are sometimes like that. They felt so convincing when she was in them. Then the sleep fades from the mind, and the world comes back into focus.
"I am a woman," she said again.
“Estella.” She heard a man’s voice call to her from behind. It came from a few body's lengths away just beyond the tree that shaded the pool. She turned her head to see a powerfully built man dismount from a horse. He was smiling.
